Sincerity and honesty… such beautiful words! Write from the heart using simple terms. No complicated words when a simple one will do fine.
The words and phrases you use should not be open to misinterpretation, since writing lacks the verbal cues and inflections in speech that would guide the reader.
If you have a picture of the one you write to, place it in front of you as you were talking to her or him.
Delicate matters such as health problems, disabilities and others of such kind should be mentioned in an introduction letter to avoid misunderstanding later:
“Some important things about me that I want to share with you and one of them is this. I must tell you that I am hearing impaired but I have hearing aids in both ears and I communicate quite well. People are often amazed how well… They do not know that I am hearing impaired… I am often open about this with people and take both a positive and often humorous approach to this”.
“I am getting to the point in my life that I do not think that I want to have any more children in the future. So if you are looking for someone that will provide you with a new child, I am probably not the right man for you”.
Try to give correct estimate of yourself:
“I am not a perfect man and am not looking for a perfect wife, just one who will be perfect for me. I am not a wealthy man in terms of money. I do not feel money is the most important thing in life. If I could choose between enough money to be comfortable for the rest of my life alone or the love of a beautiful, happy, affectionate wife, I would choose the wife without hesitation.”
“I might as well confess that I'm overweight; I really need to start working out and eating less junk food. As I said I'm surprised to be approached by you, my chances of meeting a girl of your caliber would be very slim in my home country.”
“Once again I am asking you: can you live with the fact that I am so much older than you? You are very beautiful and I am sure you can get every man you want, so why you should prefer an old man?!”
“Some of my bad points: I like to save things that probably should be thrown out. I can be messy at times. I sometimes procrastinate about situations. Tell me about your bad points.”
