Using letter templates is not such a bad thing (especially templates for the first - so called - introduction letters), but later it may result in depersonalization and confusion. For example, at the beginning of a letter a man writes “Dear Galina” and at the end - “Good bye, my sweet Maria”. You can be sure that such confusion is a real turn off for a lady!

Thank you for your wonderful letter, I am very glad that you wrote me...”  (What a beautiful letter but unfortunately the Author seems not to be aware of whom exactly he is writing… )
